Ulm is a town in Baden-Württemberg in the south west part of Germany. It has 120.000 inhabitants and lies on the bank of the Danube river. The city is known as the birth place of Albert Einstein and as having the highest church in the world with a steeple measuring 161.5 metres (530 ft).

The city was almost complete destroyed in 1944. This is why the city centre (Hirschstrasse) primarily consists of modern architecture. Some historik landmarks buildings have been restored and can be seen in the so called Fischerviertel.

Ulm is also a student city. At the Ulm University study over 10.00 students.

Neu-Ulm is a young city and lies on the right part of the Danube bank. It belongs to Bavaria and is connected to Ulm thhrough the many bridges. Thus is Danube the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
